Obituary of Marilyn Kreider Winebrenner Kreider Swinehart
MARILYN KREIDER WINEBRENNER SWINEHART, 79, passed away Friday, Aug. 10, 2012 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born April 17, 1933 in Noble County the daughter of Glenn Kreider and Grace Brumbaugh Kreider Tipton. She grew up on her parent's farm and told many stories including taking chickens to Barr Street Market to sell. She attended Wolf Lake High School and attained her G.E.D. in 1984. She married Kaye Martin Winebrenner at a young age and had five children, Martha Kaye, Mark Allen, Myra Ann, Monte Lee and Mary Carol. She married Richard Swinehart in 1961, and in 1962 they added Kirk Aaron to her loving family. She worked at and retired from G.E., and also worked at Magnavox. "During the course of her life, her main focus was her family. She was a loving, nurturing mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and opened her home and her heart to anyone in need. She was an amazing cook and baker and was best known for made from scratch Waldorf Astoria Red Cake. They weren't always pretty, but they tasted heavenly. Her potato salad was also a favorite. She loved to play Scrabble and Yahtzee." She was a member of Trinity English Evangelical Lutheran Church; a member and past president of the Social Order of Beauceant and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She is survived by daughters, Myra Craig and Mary Rugg; sons, Monte (Amy) Winebrenner and Kirk (fiancé Karen) Swinehart; 23 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren; brothers, Leon (Pat), Lynn (Betty), Don (Marilee) Kreider; sister, Carol (Wayne) Edwards; and many, many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Ed Tipton; husband, Richard Swinehart; children, Martha Kaye and Mark Allen Winebrenner; Sons-in-law, Frederick O. Craig and Melvin Rugg. Memorial service is 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2012 with calling one hour prior at Hockemeyer Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road. Viewing is also 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 13. Burial in Covington Memorial Gardens. Preferred memorials to Parkview Home Health and Hospice, or Trinity English Evangelical Lutheran Church.
