Obituary of Mary Christine Rawlins
Mary Christine (Sullivan) Rawlins departed this life on February 13, 2018, at her home with her children by her side. Having lived an exemplary life of selflessness, she was called home to the Lord. She was born June 20, 1955, in Presque Isle, Maine. Mary was a member of St. John the Baptist Parish (FW), graduate of Bishop Luers High School (Class of 1973) and held a degree in Elementary Education from Indiana University. On October 18, 1980, she married the love of her life, Glen Rawlins. He preceded her in passing. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Parish, where she also worked as a teacher’s aide. Mary was a friend to many and devoutly dedicated to her family. Mary loved gardening, reading, listening to music, the ocean and taking walks through Southwood Park. She spent every weekend with her sisters, Eileen and Joan, grabbing coffee and breakfast and heading out for an afternoon of shopping. Mary was a proud mother and grandmother and will be sorely missed. Surviving are her children, Patrick Rawlins, Bridget (Jason) Jacoby, Brendan Rawlins, Deirdre (Brian) Goshert, Neil Rawlins, grandsons William and Eddie Goshert (and a granddaughter on the way). Brothers and sisters, Fr. William Sullivan, Eileen (Myron) Brodmerkel, James Sullivan, Joan (Daniel) Bourbonnais, and seven nieces and nephews. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Glen Rawlins, parents James and Eileen Sullivan, and niece Alana Bourbonnais.
