OBITUARY
Roger Wayne Strasburg
February 2, 1940 – February 1, 2021
Roger Wayne Strasburg, 80, of Fort Wayne passed away on February 1, 2021. He was born on February 2, 1940 in Fort Wayne. Roger was a son of the late Frederick and Mary (Travis) Strasburg. He worked many years at the Salt mines in Kansas. Roger was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Kansas and Trinity Church of the Nazarene for 4 years. He liked to go fishing, but most of all he enjoyed time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Roger is survived by his wife of 62 years, Annabelle (Basse) Strasburg; son, Roger (Julie) Strasburg Jr.; daughters, Tammy (Sam) Vowles and Billy Jo (Ron) Hancock; elven grandchildren; elven great-grandchildren; and sisters, Janet Sue Matheny and Sharon Rose. Also preceding him in passing was his brothers, Richard, Ernest, and Donald Strasburg; and sister, Doris Smith. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions can be made to the Parkinson Research Foundation.

Uncle Roger was the best uncle. The memories he gave all of us will always be cherished. He was always soft spoken and so kind. We are all going to miss him so much. The love he shared with all of us will be deeply missed and his memories never forgotten. ❤️

Condolences to Mr. & Mrs. Vowles on the passing of her father. I did not know Mr. Strasburg but recall Mr. Vowles as a dedicated Resident Adviser at the Allen County Work Release center when I volunteered there over a decade ago.
