Cline Dwight Barton Jr.

Cline Dwight Barton, Jr., 73, died October 16, 2012 at Health South Rehabilitation Hospital. Cline was born in Buffalo, N.Y. and raised in Richmond. He graduated from John Marshall High School in Richmond and the University of Richmond. He also received a degree from the University of Virginia.
Cline was formerly on the board of HFFI (Historic Fredericksburg Foundation Inc.) and in the vestry and choir at St. George’s Episcopal Church. He taught at the University of Richmond and at James Monroe High School. He retired from RL Banks and Associates as a transportation analyst and began his second career as a cabinetmaker. His first love was building 18th Century reproductions.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Judith Hawkins Barton; four children Elizabeth Durden, Kathryn Canning, Anne Carey Endler and husband, Shawn, and Cline Barton III; five grandchildren, Patrick, Sarah and Ben Canning, and Avery and Olivia Endler. He is also survived by one brother, James Ross Barton and his wife Jane of Fairfax; niece, Beth Harding and husband, Scott of Havelock, NC and nephew James Ross Barton, Jr. and wife, Jeannie of Richmond, VA.
The family will receive friends Thursday, October 18, 2012 from 6-8 p.m. at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, 1621 Jefferson Davis HWY, Fredericksburg. A funeral service will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery, Friday, October 19, 2012 at 11 a.m.
