Obituary of Bobby R. Burdett

IN THE CARE OF

Beams Funeral Home

Bob went to be with his heavenly father on Monday, September 12, 2011. He was born June 16,1936 in Springfield, Mo. He served 12 years in the U.S. Army, was a chef for several years, and retired from CF in Fremont. He married Rollene Kay Burdett (Mostek) on December 29, 1978. His loving memory will always remain embedded in our hearts. His deep love for his family is what made Bob who he was. Bo’s kindness and compassion toward everyone he knew and met is something that will always be remembered. Bob’s passion for life spilled over into many things. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and enjoyed stock car racing. He was always excited to share a story about his last adventure or more importantly to him, to listen to yours. Bob celebrated life every day, and we look forward to the day that we will all be together again. Bob is survived by: his wife Kay Burdett at home; children, Terry Burdett of Colorado Springs, Co., Aaron Burdett of Monett, Mo., Charolette Cameron of Billings, Mo., Sharron Totten of Joplin, Mo., Lisa Scott of Nixa, Mo., Michelle VanWagner of Angola, Ind., and Monica Hensley of Pleasant Lake, Ind.; 25 grandchildren; and 21 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, William L.D. & Daisy Mae (Dodd) Burdett. A Celebration of Life Service was held Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at Beams Funeral Home in Fremont, Ind., with Pastor Ken Ansley officiating. Military honors will be conducted by members of the Fremont American Legion. An informal gathering of family and friends was held following the celebration service, approximately from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at the funeral home.
