Robert Lewis Morrison

Robert Lewis Morrison, age 91, of Front Royal, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at Warren Memorial Hospital. A funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, May 23, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Panorama Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel with Pastor Seth Alcorn officiating. Entombment will follow the service. Mr. Morrison was born in Warren County on November 19, 1921 a son of the late Charles F. and Grace Hannah Barron Morrison. He was a truck driver for Hemingway Transport in Winchester. He was a member of the Teamsters Union and the Elks Lodge and was known as a great cook and baker, especially known for his chocolate cake. He enjoyed watching his favorite baseball teams, the Orioles and the Nationals. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather and brother. He was a WWII veteran of the Philippines and New Guinea where he received the Purple Heart. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his son, Lloyd L. Alger and wife Cindy of Elkton, MD; his daughters, Judy M. Campbell and husband Buster of Front Royal, and Melinda Kay Lupton and husband John of Strasburg; his brother, Charles F. Morrison, Jr. and wife Wanda of Front Royal; his sister, Nellie Longerbeam of Millville, WV; his six grandchildren; his eleven great-grandchildren; and his two great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Morrison was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Alger Morrison in 1999; his son, Robert L. Morrison, Jr. in 2012; his brothers, Harvey L Morrison and Francis Morrison; and his sisters, Mary F. Doughie, Kathleen Faulconer, and Mable Henry. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. at Turner-Robertshaw Funeral Home.
