Jewell Wayne Grimes

Jewell Wayne Grimes, 62, Greencastle, passed away Saturday, at his residence surrounded by his family and friends. Wayne was born in Greencastle on May 7, 1956, the son of Frank W. and Wanda M. (Chadd) Grimes, and attended Greencastle High School. Mr. Grimes worked as a Mechanic at the State Highway Department for over twenty years. He loved to hunt and fish. Survivors include his wife of forty years, Carol Grimes; three daughters, Christy Morris, (husband-Josh), Rachel Cope, (husband-Jimmy), and Amanda Grimes, (fiancée-Ryan); five grandchildren, Alexia, Joshua Wayne, Alyssa, McKenzie, and Allie; a brother, Hank Grimes, (companion-Betty); a sister, Cindy Long, (husband-Rick); and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Charlie Grimes; a sister, Kathy York; and a nephew Darrell Wayne Long. Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 18, 2019, at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home with Pastor Donnie Watson officiating. Burial will follow in Boone-Hutcheson Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, 2019, at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home or one hour prior to time of services.
