Obituary of Orville "Roger" Nodley
Orville Roger Nodley, 88, of Greencastle, passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2013 with his family by his side. He was born on November 2, 1924 in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky to Robert S. Nodley and Ora Ellen Lykins Nodley. Mr. Nodley was a graduate of Quincy High School. He served his country in the US Army Air Corp during WWII. Roger attended New Life Baptist Church, was a lifetime member of the VFW and the American Legion. He was the former owner of Premier Porcelain in Indianapolis, and was a skilled carpenter who built his own house. He achieved 60 years of service in the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America. His parents and four sisters, Agnes Scott, Gladys Blue, Elsie Taylor and Delsie Nodley preceded him in death. Surviving are his wife, Betty whom he married on June 27, 1948; four sons, Mike Nodley and wife Linda of Lebanon, Rod Nodley and wife Angi of Greencastle, Jerry Nodley of Greencastle, and Troy Nodley and wife Pam of Brazil; 11 grandchildren and 3 great-granddaughters. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 23, 2013 at 1 P.M. at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, with Dr. C. Michael Wren, Jr. officiating. Interment with Honors will follow at Brick Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 23, 2013 from 11 A.M. until time of services at the funeral home.
