Richard Dale Sutherlin

Richard Dale Sutherlin, 91 of Acworth, Georgia, passed away at home on Saturday, September, 21, 2019.
Richard was born on August, 17, 1928 near Groveland to James Earl and Viola Jo (Timmons) Sutherlin.
He was a graduate of Bainbridge High School in 1946 and attended Purdue for one year and was a lifelong fan of Purdue. He married Evelyn Jane (McBride) in 1947. She preceded him in death on January 26, 2016. Richard farmed in Putnam County before working in Ag Sales in Michigan, Illinois, Iowa and Indiana until he retired. After retiring Richard and Evelyn moved to Acworth, Georgia.
He is survived by three children, Sharon Ellis, Acworth, Georgia, Beth Woodard, Indianapoiis, indiana and Richard Jr, (Mercy) , Three Rivers, Michigan; 8 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister Frances Waddell, Greenwood, Indiana.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Jeanette Toney, Mildred Sitler, Betty Carpenter, brothers James, Elvin, Julian, Harry, Joseph and William. Two son in laws, Bob Ellis and Don Woodard also preceded him in death.
Visitation will be Friday, September 27, 2019 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Hopkins-Rector, Greencastle. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Brick Chapel Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Bainbridge High School Scholarship Fund c/o Putnam County Foundation, Greencastle, Indiana.
