Soren James Gram, Greencastle, born March 29, 1930 in Gary, IN, was the son of Loyal and Violet Gram passed away on Friday, November 30, 2018 at home with his family.
Jim was a 1948 graduate of Greencastle High School. He married Charlotte Hammond on May 21, 1950.
Survivors include a daughter, Cathy Lowery; a son, Gary Gram (wife-Lyn) ; a grandson, James (wife, Lacey); two great granddaughters, Kinley and Brooklynn; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by Charlotte, his wife of sixty-eight years, several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, and several members of his Cooper family
Jim was active in the community: Past President Greencastle Jaycees; Justice of the Peace; Past President Windy Hill Golf Club; Member of the Greencastle Elks; Member of First Christian Church.
Jim and Charlotte owned and operated Progressive Printing for many years until their retirement when they turned operations over to Gary and Cathy.
He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps and was active in local politics.
Jim enjoyed flying his single-engine airplane, travelling with friends, playing golf, card games, gardening and especially spending time with family.
An open house Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, December 9, 2018 from 2:00 – 4:00 PM at the Elks Lodge 202 So. Indiana St. Greencastle, IN.
