Ms. Delores Rea Simonson Balser

Delores R. Balser, 81 of Greensburg, passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2011, at the Hospice Inpatient Facility in Columbus. Delores was born on June 1, 1930, in North Bend, Ohio, the daughter of Henry and Gladys Simonson.
Delores was a full time house wife and mother of eleven children, survivors include daughters: Judy (John) Nickerson of Columbus; Patricia Kirtman of Greensburg; Norma (Steve) Bierlein of Columbus; Gladys (Darrell) Ailes of Westport; Mary Lou (Mark) Joslin of Columbus; Anna (Jim) Hoppus of Columbus; Shirley Cain of Greensburg; sons: Ronald (Laura) Kerns of Greensburg; Charlie Washburn of Columbus; and Paul (Aimee) Balser of Greensburg. Other survivors include three sisters: Lonnie Montavon and Annie Heyob both of Harrison, Ohio; and Norma Jean Davis of Florence, Alabama; one brother Roy Simonson of Brookville, Indiana, and 34 grandchildren, 61 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Delores was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Donald Balser Sr., one son George Kerns, one sister Mary Alice Simonson, and three brothers Bobby, Shorty, and Jerry Simonson.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, September 2, 2011, from 12:30PM until the time of the funeral service 1:30PM all at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Cleves, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of South Central Indiana.
