Obituary of Robert W. Baker
Robert W. Baker, 92 of Greensburg, passed away on Sunday, August 4, 2019 at Aspen Place Health Campus. Robert was born on May 3, 1927 in Bedford, IN, the son of Al and Pearl (Simmerman) Baker. He married Beverly Ann Hannum on May 17, 1954 in Lawrenceburg and she preceded him in death on September 22, 2011. Robert served in the United States Army Air Corp during WWII in Germany and France. After returning home, he worked as a truck driver for 40 years, retiring in May of 1989. He was a Lifetime Member of the Eagles, American Legion, VFW and the Conservation Club. Survivors include three daughters – Kathy (James) Biles of Greensburg, Patricia Baker of Shelbyville and Lorrie Collins of Greensburg; two sons – James Baker of Versailles and David (Lisa) Baker of Coral Springs, FL; one brother William Baker of Atlanta, GA; seven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and one brother Wilber Baker. A Graveside Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at 10am at the Rossburg Cemetery in New Point. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Post 129 or Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.
