Herbert Joseph Schader

Herbert Joseph Schader, 87, passed away on June 6, 2018. He was born on July 19, 1930 in Mainz, Germany. In 1953, Herb immigrated to the United States where he joined the USAF in 1955. He retired as a Master Sergeant from Langley AFB after 25 years of service. After retirement, he worked Civil Service for 15 more years. Herb was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Anna Marie of 56 years, and his only grandson, Christopher J. Schader. He is survived by two children, Joseph T. Schader and wife, Kathy of Hampton, Catherine C. Mackerney and husband, Stomper of Gloucester; two granddaughters, Kelly Ann Henderson and husband, Corey of Hampton, Patricia Ann Jaynes and husband, Tommy of Gloucester; and four great grandsons, Brodie and Connor Henderson, Brantley and Benton Jaynes. A memorial service will be held by Fr. Bob Perkins, June 14 at 6:00pm at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home, 2551 N. Armistead Avenue, Hampton, Virginia. The family will greet friends prior to the service with refreshments following the service. The family would like to thank Hospice Nurses: Sherri, Debbie, Lanea, and also Kim.
