Obituary of Madell Brinkley Reynolds
Madell Brinkley Reynolds, 88, joint resident of Hampton, Virginia and Livingston, Tennessee, died Friday, August 17, in Cookeville, Tennessee. A native of Granville, Tennessee, he had been a resident of Hampton for 40 years and part time resident of Livingston for 9 years. He graduated with a BS degree in Mathematics from the Tennessee Technological University at Cookeville, Tennessee and was a graduate of the Air War College. Mr. Reynolds retired in 1993 as an Operation Director for Computer Sciences Corporation. He was a member of Ivy Memorial Baptist Church where he was a deacon, and former church treasurer. He was an Air Force veteran and retired as a Colonel from the Air Force Reserve. He was a former member of the Southern Peninsula Amateur Radio Klub (SPARK), and served as a Meals on Wheels volunteer for over 10 years. He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Naomi V. Reynolds in 2008. He is survived by his second wife, Sue Reynolds; two daughters, Donna R. Reed, of Gurley, Alabama and Teresa R. Kiser (Jerry) of Jacksonville, Alabama; a son, Vance L. Reynolds (Nancy) of Hampton; two sisters, Wanda R. Eppes of Huntsville, Alabama and Zelma R. Custer of Nolensville, Tennessee; three grandchildren; Alicia Reed of Acworth, Georgia, Ryan Reed of Gurley, Alabama and Madison Reynolds of Hampton; and one great-granddaughter. He is also survived by a step-daughter, Brenda Cook of Fletcher, North Carolina; a step-grandson, Rob Cook (Michele) of Livingston, Tennessee; and one step-great-granddaughter. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 pm on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. A celebration of Madell's life will follow at 2:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Parklawn Memorial Park. A memorial service will be held in Livingston, Tennessee at a future date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Nursing Student Emergency Fund, Tennessee Technological University, P.O. Box 1915, Cookeville, Tennessee 38505.
