Margurite Temple Janosik

Margurite “Peggy” Temple Janosik, 84, a resident of Hampton, Virginia since 1970, died on Thursday, October 11, 2018. Peggy was born in Bobtown, Pennsylvania on November 27, 1933, to Arleigh Raymond and Victoria (Mohar) Temple. She graduated from Georges Township High School in York Run, Pennsylvania in 1951. She married Daniel Janosik, Sr. who was a sergeant in the US Air Force for 30 years. Together they raised three children, and she worked at various jobs including teaching pre-school and doing administrative work. Later, she attended nursing school to become a Licensed Practical Nurse, receiving the highest honors in her class. Years later, while working full-time, she also studied to receive her Associates degree as a Registered Nurse through Excelsior University. She retired after 23 years of service at Hampton General Hospital. Being a nurse, and helping people through her service, was her greatest joy in life. She was also a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hampton, where she was known affectionately as the “jewelry lady” for the many handmade necklaces and crosses that she gave away. Peggy is survived by her son, Dr. Daniel Janosik, Jr. (Ann H.), granddaughter and her children, and granddaughter Megan Janosik. She was preceded in death by her daughters, Judith Janosik (1993) and Darlene Janosik (2011), as well as her brother, James Temple, and her sister, Agnes (Patty) Colton. The family will receive friends Friday evening, October 19, 2018, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. A funeral service will be at the funeral home chapel the following morning, Saturday, October 20, 2018, at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park.
