N. Jay Klinefelter

Nelda Jay Klinefelter passed away on March 31, 2024, in Gloucester, Virginia. He was 76. He was the son of Kenneth P. and Geraldine H. Klinefelter, and his stepmother, Arlyne Klinefelter. He was preceded in death by his brother, Richard; step-brother and step-sister, Kenneth Jr. and Martha. He was also preceded by his stepsisters, Sherry, Carol, and Charlotte. He is survived by his step-sister, Hazel (Bill), of Cartersville, Georgia and friend, Joe Roth. Also, his two cats, Puddy Tat and Smokey. Jay grew up in Hampton, graduating from Hampton High School. He worked at William & Mary in information technology and retired after 33 years. Upon graduating from high school, he attended Tech School and worked at the Pentagon. In the early 70’s he worked in Information Technology in Germany and Vietnam. In the mid 70’s he spent time living in Costa Rica on a farm. He lived in Schley, Virginia for 35 years. He also worked part-time in the Schley and Ware Neck Post Offices.
