Sherry Lynn White

Sherry L. White passed away peacefully on August 25, 2016. Born to Russ and Gladys Foster on August 27, 1935, she grew up in Huntingdon, PA. When she was 16 she met the love of her life, Whitey, and they were married on December 27, 1954. They settled in Hampton and had two daughters. Whitey predeceased Sherry in 2002, after 48 wonderful years. Sherry will always be cherished by her daughters and sons-in-law, Tammy and David Priddy, and Robyn and Pete Yevak, and her granddaughters, Nicole and Courtney Priddy, and Stefany Yevak. Sherry also leaves behind sisters, Jackie Gibboney, Sally Myers, and Bonnie Hammon, as well as dear friends, Mary Jo Farthing and Sharon Snyder-Bartel. Sherry will be remembered as a very compassionate and fun person…big emphasis on the “Fun.” She was always the “life of the party”, and made everyone feel welcome in her home. She would always lend an ear and a drink when needed! Sherry was proud of her granddaughters and was always fully involved in their lives. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at Parklawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Sherry’s name may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 6350 Center Drive, Ste. 102, Norfolk, VA 23502. The family would like to thank the caring and compassionate staff at the Gardens of Warwick Forest for their fabulous care of Sherry in her final days.
