Richard W. Gruber, 84, of Harlan, passed away on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at The Cedars in Leo. Born on June 19, 1933 in Harlan, he was a son of the late Herman and Rosie (Felix) Gruber. A graduate of Harlan High School, Richard served in the U.S. Army for two years. He was a Production Manager with Sauder’s Feeds for 44 years, from which he retired. He attended Blackhawk Ministries and was a greeter/usher for over 20 years. He is survived by his children, Lynn (JoAnn Adair) Gruber of Akron, Ohio, and Karen (Roger) Berghs of Fort Wayne; three grandchildren, Matthew Berghs of Oakland, Calif., Ryan (Nichole Sullivan) Gruber of Indianapolis, and Danae (Curtis) Lake of Fort Wayne; brothers, Max Gruber of Leo and Larry (Dottie) Gruber of Florida. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Joan (Snyder) Gruber; sister, Helen Schwartz; brother, Robert Gruber; brother-in-law, Richard Schwartz; and sisters-in-law, Jackie Gruber and Arzetta Gruber. Privates Services will be held by the family per Richard’s request. Burial at Leo Memorial Cemetery, Leo. Memorials may be made to Parkview Home Health and Hospice, 1900 Carew St., Fort Wayne, Ind.
