Frances Heym Birchett

Mrs. Frances Heym Birchett, 91, a former resident of Harrisonburg, who had been a resident of The Village at Gordon House at Gordonsville, died there Friday morning, Dec. 2, 2011.
A daughter of the late Frank R. Heym and France Antonia Decman Heym, she was born on Oct. 15, 1920 at New York, New York and received her education in New York Schools. She held many interesting professional positions during her lifetime. Most interesting was her work with The Manhattan Project during World War II. Also she was an administrative secretary in the Collingswood, NJ school system for many years. Mrs. Birchett had formerly made her home in Gloucester, VA prior to moving to Harrisonburg in 1998.
In 1971 she married Walter W. Birchett who preceded her in death on Dec. 15, 1995. Walter and Frances loved to travel and made trips to Greece and Thailand in their later years
She is survived by two sons, Frank David Foreman and his wife. Carolyn K. of Harrisonburg and John Michael Foreman and his wife, Deborrah F. of Palmyra, VA; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Lois Foreman Fautt.
She will be cremated at the Lindsey Cremation Chapel in Harrisonburg and burial will be in the Albany Rural Cemetery in Albany, NY.
