William Curtis Hevener, 95, a resident of Harrisonburg, died Saturday afternoon, March 9, 2013, at his home.
A son of the late Edward and Merial Bodkin Hevener, he was born on June 3, 1917 in Brandywine, WV and had been making his home in Harrisonburg for the past 75 years. He had served in the Army during World War II and was a member or Rion-Bowman VFW Post No. 632. Mr. Hevener was a truck driver of Shenandoah Pride for 38 years.
On June 24, 1937 he married Reba Bodkin Hevener who preceded him in death on Feb. 5, 2005.
He is survived by one son, William A. Hevener of Kettering, OH; one daughter, Judy Hevener of Harrisonburg; a granddaughter, Sabrina Barragan of Harrisonburg; a great-grandson, Ronald Fellows of Harrisonburg and a great-great-grandson, Bentley Hayward of Palmer, Alaska.
His body was cremated at the Lindsey Funeral Homes and Crematory. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.lindseyharrisonburg.com.
