Jean E. Karst

Jean E. Karst, 91 of Huntington passed away on Friday, September 11, 2020 at the home of her daughter. Jean was a 1946 graduate of Huntington High School. She retired from Kroger after working there for many years. Jean loved music and was known as the piano lady at the Heritage. She was a member of Pilchers Chapel where she led the singing. Jean was a member of the Miriam Rebekah Lounge, Jolly Rebekahs club, Jolly Dozen, and several card clubs. She enjoyed to entertain people, and especially loved spending time with her family. She was born on March 24, 1929 in Huntington, the daughter of the late Clifford J. and Alta “Lucille” (Lynn) Meyer. She was united in marriage to James F. Karst on August 23, 1947. James preceded her in death on October 13, 2013. Survivors include two sons: Jim Karst and Rick (Jenny) Karst both of Huntington; three daughters: Judy (Don) Fleck of Huntington, Becky Miller and Jo Ellen (Doug) Earhart both of Huntington; eleven grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother Robert Meyer. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 15, 2020 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana. We will be following the CDC’s guidelines for Social Distancing and Social Gathering Limits. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. with one hour of calling prior to the service at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel. Interment will be at the Riverside Cemetery in Andrews, Indiana. Memorial donations can be made out to Lilly Bear Rescue in care of Myers Funeral Home, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, IN 46750.
