Mary J. Gelzleichter

Mary J. Gelzleichter, 92 of Huntington passed away at 9:00 pm on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at River Terrace Retirement Community in Bluffton. Mary was a 1943 graduate of Huntington Township High School. She retired in 1975 from Indiana Bell. After retirement she worked at Juergens Hardware for twelve years. Mary was a member of St. Peter’s First United Church of Christ and was a life time member of the Telephone Pioneers. Mary was born on June 26, 1925 in Huntington, the daughter of Hugh E. and Verna B. (Kocher) Bieber. She was united in marriage to George W. Gelzleichter on August 6, 1958 in Huntington. He preceded her in death on September 4, 1978. Survivors include a stepson: Thomas L. Gelzleichter of Columbia City; daughter-in-law: Patricia Gelzleichter of Huntington; four grandchildren: Karen (Kevin) Smith of Huntington; Linda (Chris) Dunwiddie of Bluffton; Christy (Mark) Spencer of Huntington; Don (Kelley) Gelzleichter of Corona, CA and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a stepson: James Gelzleichter. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2018 from 10:00 am – 12:00 noon at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 12:00 noon following visitation at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel with Pastor Raymond Scribner officiating. Interment will be at the Star of Hope Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made out to American Cancer Society in care of Myers Funeral Home, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, IN 46750.
