Norma J. Beghtel

Norma J. Beghtel, 90 of Huntington passed away at 8:45 am on Thursday, February 7, 2019 at The Heritage of Huntington. Norma was a 1946 graduate of Huntington Township High School. She was a life member of Central Christian Church. Norma had worked as a sales manager at Jeurgens Hardware for 41 years from 1971 until her retirement in 2012. In her younger years she enjoyed camping and bowling in a ladies league at Rainbow Lanes and in her later years she enjoyed antiquing with her sisters. Norma was born on August 2, 1928, in Fort Wayne, the daughter of William and Mary Esta (Barr) Keehn. She was united in marriage to the love of her life Walter A. Beghtel on January 11, 1948 in Huntington. Walter preceded her in death on May 7, 2015. Survivors include two sons: Steve (Suellen) Beghtel of Huntington; Jay (Michelle) Beghtel of Fort Wayne; a daughter: Susan (Charlie) Herring of Huntington; two sisters: Janice Wilkins of Huntington; Carol Olinger of Fort Wayne; six grandchildren: Craig (Chanel) Beghtel, Candee (Andy) Kline, Lucas Beghtel, Abby (Alex) Beghtel Robbins, Shannon (Andrew) Fagan, Jeffrey (Nikki) Herring and ten great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son: Jeffrey D. Beghtel; a grandson: Andrew L. Herring and a great grandson: Jack A. Robbins. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 11, 2019 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford St., Huntington, IN. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Myers Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel, with Pastor Chris Hayden officiating. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service. Interment will be at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Huntington County.
