Russell L. “Beanie” Clabaugh, 88 of Fort Wayne passed away at 1:38 a.m. on Friday, April 26, 2013 at Visiting Nurse and Hospice in Fort Wayne. During his early years he drove a truck for several years and later owned and operated Hillcrest Texaco in Fort Wayne for 15 years and most recently was an auto mechanic for Hires Auto Parts for 10 years, retiring in 1986. He was a past post commander of the American Legion Post 296 of Fort Wayne and was a life member of the Waynedale VFW. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He was born on November 21, 1924 in Huntington, a son of Russell and Verda (Rush) Clabaugh.
Survivors include two sons: Robert (Carol) Clabaugh of Warren; Michael Clabaugh of Andrews; a daughter: Cheryl L. Agee of Kingsport, TN; a sister: Judy Walters of Warsaw; three grandchildren and one great grandson.
He was preceded in death by a daughter: Karen Hood; five brothers, six sisters and a grandson: Rusty Elston.
There will be private family services at a later date.
