James Edwin Marshall

James Edwin Marshall James Edwin Marshall - 84, Columbus, IN, died Thursday morning, April 19, 2012 at Community Hospital South. Jim was born in Indianapolis January 26, 1928 to the late Harry and Mabel Marshall. He graduated from Shortridge High School and attended Purdue University. Jim enlisted in the Marines where he honorably served the United States of America from 1946-1952. He was awarded the WWII Victory Medal, Honorable Service Emblem and achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant. As a civilian, Jim was the Director of Printing Services at Community Hospital East for 30 years before retiring in 1995. Jim is survived by his wife of 43 years, Kay Marshall; children, Jeff A. Marshall, Columbus, IN, Kevin (Valerie) Marshall, California, David J. Marshall, New York, Jennifer Marshall, Indianapolis; siblings, Marilyn Elzie, Indianapolis, Louise Jarboe, Arizona, Robert Marshall, Indianapolis; 8 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by brothers, Donald and Richard Marshall. Jim enjoyed reading, playing golf, photography and genealogy.
