Obituary of Margaret Powe
Mrs. Margaret (Williams) Powe was born into this world on December 27, 1936, in Indianapolis, Indiana to the Late Ance and Sallie (Wolverton) Williams, the ninth of twelve children. Mrs. Margaret Powe attended Indianapolis Public Schools # 24 and Crispus Attucks High School. Mrs. Margaret Powe was a Crispus Attucks High School graduate of the class of 1954. Mrs. Margaret Powe was united in Holy Matrimony to Mr. Walter Lee Powe Sr. Mr. Walter Lee Powe, Sr, and Mrs. Margaret Powe were blessed with four children. Mrs. Margaret Powe professed a hope in Christ and was baptized on February 23, 1964, in the Name of Jesus, and received the gift of the Holy Sprint on February 25, 1964, at Christ Temple Apostolic Faith Assembly under the pastor-ship of the Late Bishop Willie Lee. Mrs. Margaret Powe departed this life on Sunday, September 20, 2020, at the age of eighty-three years, eleven months, and seven days. A few highlights of her life on earth. Mrs. Margaret Powe was a dedicated daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed and cherished her relationship with Jesus. Mrs. Margaret Powe loved to study the word of God and participated in every opportunity to read through the bible and bible study classes at Christ Temple Apostolic Faith Assembly. She was a Sunday School teacher, Sanctuary Choir member, and a Vacation Bible School Teacher. Mrs. Margaret Powe loved to serve in the house of the Lord. In 1969, she joined the Usher Board and served for over 30 years. Mrs. Margaret Powe loved the arts. She painted, loved to draw, crochet, decorate, and was an avid gardener. She helped retouched the murals in Christ Temple Apostolic Faith Assembly’s sanctuary with a fellow artist. Most of all she loved her family and enjoyed being a wife, mother, and grandmother. Mrs. Margaret Powe was preceded in death by her parents, Ance and Sallie Williams; spouse, Walter Lee Powe Sr.; four brothers, Andrew Williams, Clarence Williams, Handy Williams, and Chester Williams; sisters, Florence Higgins, Marie Allen, Lucille Brown, Leona McGee, and Evelyn Wiilliams. Mrs. Margaret Powe leaves to cherish in her memory son, Walter (Wendy) Lee Powe Jr; daughters, Pamela L (James) Duncan; Linda F Powe and Stephanie Ann Powe; her sister, Frances Williams; sister-in-love, Frances Williams; brother, James Howard Williams; four grandchildren, James Rusell Duncan III; Lisa Larine Duncan; Walter William Perry III; and Christopher Jordan-Perry Powe; six, great-grandchildren, James Russell Duncan IV; Olivia Duncan; Mya Duncan; Jayla Duncan; Jasmine Duncan, and Brian Walker Jr; a host of nieces, nephews and close friends. Humbly Submitted ……….The Powe Family Service for Margaret will be held, 12:00 pm, Saturday, October 3, 2020, at Christ Temple Apostolic Faith Church, 430 W. Fall Creek Parkway N. Drive, Indianapolis, Indiana, with visitation from 10:00 am until time of service at 12:00 pm. Interment will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery, 700 38th Street, Indianapolis, Indiana.
