Meryl Veronica (Rivait) Delehanty

Meryl Veronica (Rivait) Delehanty, age 88, of Carmel, Indiana passed away on Thursday January 24, 2019. Meryl was born July 14, 1930 in Eveleth, Minnesota to William and Anetha Rivait. After graduating from high school she obtained her Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from St. Catherine University in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She married Leonard J. Delehanty in 1952. Meryl enjoyed spending her time volunteering with many organizations including St. Vincent Hospital, The Salvation Army, The Benefe Guild, The 500 Festival and a reading mentor group. She was member of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Indianapolis. Meryl is survived by her sons, Tim (Kim) Delehanty and Patrick (Ann) Delehanty; daughter-in-law, Ann Howard; 8 grandchildren; and 1 great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Leonard J. Delehanty; sons, Michael and Kevin Delehanty; parents, Anetha and William Rivait; and sisters, Claire Gruget and Jean Hjalmer. Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 30, 2019 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 7200 Sarto Drive, Indianapolis, Indiana 46240. A Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at 12:00 PM. Father Jim Farrell will officiate. Entombment will follow at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery.
