Nick Strayer

Nick Strayer, age 33, of Carmel, Indiana passed away on Wednesday March 13, 2019. Nick was born November 19, 1985 in Lima, Ohio to Melissa Rice and Caleb Strayer. Nick was a quiet individual on the surface but to those family, friends, and coworkers who knew him, Nick was quick-witted, humorous, a hard worker, loyal, caring, and had an "infectious smile" that was sure to make all of those who knew him feel just as happy. Nick had many interests. He loved the Colts, Pacers, the Bears, and the Bulls... he dove into sports, studying the statistics and learning all the details. It was Nick's quick-witted mind that would shine through to those who knew him... "Whatever subject in life Nick was involved in he was passionate about- and fully interested" Nick was an extremely enthusiastic person. He fully pursued each of his interests and hobbies with passion. In Nick's spare time he would read books, listen to music, go to concerts, enjoy time on his computer and video games with his friends. Nick loved history, space, and how the world worked... he enjoyed learning all that he could to fill his mind like a human encyclopedia. To those special to him, Nick was known as unique, goofy, hilarious, considerate, grateful, open minded, sensitive, strong, and a best friend to everyone. He had "the best laugh, voice, and soul" and was sure of showing just how loving he was to family, friends, and those close to him. Nick was a person who truly touched those in his life by his characteristics- his love, his laugh, his knowledge, and his talent. Nick is one of those individuals who is here for a short time and brings light into our world and once it is gone, it is sorely missed but not forgot. Nick is survived by; father Caleb Strayer and mother Melissa Rice; brother Stephen (Amanda) Strayer; sister Jessa Strayer; girlfriend Casey Davis; Nick's best friends Alyson, Betz, Tess, and Kevin; and many aunts and uncles. A visitation for Nick will be held Sunday, March 17, 2019 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Crown Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery, 700 W. 38th St., Indianapolis, Indiana 46208. A celebration of life will occur Sunday, March 17, 2019 at 4:00 PM, 700 W. 38th St., Indianapolis, Indiana 46208. A cremation will occur.
