I emailed Eileen from Barcelona on August 5 to tell her that I had dreamed of her and Hal together that night – and I shall always think of them together. They ignited a spark in each another – it always seemed so right that her wedding dress was red! Eileen nurtured me as a new pastor, just as she had nurtured Hal. Eileen always spoke her mind and her heart – what a gift! Eileen was a wonderful listener, a deep thinker, a creative artist, an activist never constrained by age or stereotypes, a generous and kind friend who shared my love for the wild landscapes of our country. Blessings to my beloved spunky, sweet Soul-sister as you continue the Journey of Life that is ever unfolding and enfolding us all.

Eileen was unforgettable. I felt instantly drawn to her and my admiration continued to grow in the several years that we were both part of the Good Sam family. She leaves a treasury of memories---her editing of our newsletter, her publishing and illustrating a cookbook, the amazing art work, and her sharp, insightful observations of the world around her. She has enriched the lives of all who knew her.
