Viola Maxine Short

Viola Maxine Short, 85, of Indianapolis, passed away July 26, 2018 from cancer and dementia. Viola was born to Floyd and Loma (Herriott) Hurst on April 5, 1933. Floyd and Loma were blessed with ten children: Pauline Hurst, Waudine Hurst, Estel Hurst, Viola Hurst, Glenn Hurst, Lavon Hurst, Geraldine Hurst, Carroll Gene Hurst, Barbara Hurst, and Janis Hurst. Viola Hurst married Donald Short in Nashville, Tennessee in January 1953. They had three children: Stan Short, Brenda Short Mungle, and Donny K. Short. They also had three grandchildren: Brandon Mungle, Blake Mungle, and Timothy Short. Viola and Donald were married over sixty-five years. Viola was a partner with Donald in his preaching ministry and work in the church. She was a homemaker and church secretary for many years. The older Don and Viola became, the closer they grew together. When Donald died in May 2018, it seemed like Viola was determined to be with him as soon as possible. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM, Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at Little and Sons Funeral Home, 4901 E. Stop 11 Rd., Indianapolis, IN 46237. Private burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
