I remember how kind and caring she was when I needed it so badly. She became a very dear friend many years ago. I loved how she was the "Pied Piper" with the children in sacrament meeting, mine included. She was a grandma to many. Someone always dear to my heart....

Our hearts are saddened by the passing of our dear friend Audrey. She brought sunshine to those around her and always had that infectious beautiful smile. Friendly and made others feel welcome as she never seemed to meet a stranger. We will charrish the weekly dinner dates we enjoyed with Audrey, Lyman along with two other couples, such fun times. We regret not being able to be present to celebrate the wonderful life of Audrey, due to illness, our hearts and thoughts will we with her wonderful husband and family.

We remember Audrey from our years in the Kokomo Ward back in the early '80's, after newly baptized, til we moved away, because of the military. Always kind, generous, friendly.

Audrey was such a wonderful example to me growing up!! I've known her since I was 12 years old. She was like a second mother to me!! I'll always remember her chocolate cakes and dinner rolls! I love all you Marlers, so many wonderful memories!!

Many of my fondest youthful moments included Mrs. Marler (I just can't bring myself to call her "Audrey"). As a friend to Terry and Dennis, I spent so much time at their home. I'm pretty sure she thought I lived there...I'm so saddened that my "other mother" has passed, and I offer my deepest, heartfelt condolences to the Marler family. You know I loved your mom, and she left such an impression on me when we were growing up in the Heights .

She cherished her family, yet had love left over for me and so many others. Oh, she could be blunt and candid, too...she had no problem correcting me, right along with her "other" kids. It's one of the things that makes me smile now as I reminisce. That, and the two trips with the Marler gang to DisneyWorld in that huge station wagon...I guess she didn't think that six of you were enough! I wonder if Mr. Marler had any say in that decision - I'd bet not!

I'm remembering all those times around the Marler table while she cooked and baked, just talking while she worked to apparently end hunger in Central Indiana! Her meals were major projects, from what I recall. I'm pretty sure she's the reason we have a Sam's Club in Kokomo. No one cooks that much for one family, right?

About a year ago, I had a "memory spasm" where I recalled the Marler's home phone number, just out of the blue. It was that same number I called a few thousand times in my youth, into that corded, shared phone hanging on the wall in the kitchen. On a whim, I called it, and to my delight, Mr. Marler answered, and of course she was right there with him. It was a wonderful talk, just catching up with both of them. The same voices, the same tone, the same wit and parental nature...almost like I was 14 again. Since then, I've learned to pay attention and act on those little Godly whispers. Sadly, those were my last words with her.

My heart breaks with all of you. She will be missed. Thanks for sharing your Mom with me.
