IN THE CARE OF
Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home & Cemetery
Martha “Marty” Lavonne (Everroad) Swaim, 90, of Kokomo passed away December 5, 2018 in Carmel, Indiana with her daughters by her side. She was born June 26, 1928 in Columbus, Indiana to Robert and Edith (McFagin) Everroad.
Marty grew up in Edinburgh, Indiana and after high school went on to earn a degree in business at Indiana State University. While in college she met Harry Swaim, whom she would wed after graduation in the fall of 1950, together they raised two wonderful girls. Marty was crafty and had an exquisite eye for decorating. For a while she ran a knitting shop in Kokomo called Westmoor Designs. She was an avid reader and fierce sports fan, making sure to watch every Colts game on TV, and rooting on the Boilermakers. Most of all, Marty loved her family. She supported and encouraged each of them in all they did. She will be deeply missed.
Marty is survived by her daughters, Debbie Swaim and Sandy (Brad) Lawson; grandchildren Stephanie “Stevie” Roesner and Jeff (Becca) Lawson; and great grandchildren, Billy Blevins, Gabriella Roesner and Victoria Lawson.
There will be a private family gathering at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home Sunday, December 9. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
