Maxine W Larke

Maxine W. Larke, 98, went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 16th in Kokomo. She was born on November 26, 1919 to the late Burt and Lillian (Foy) Burtch in Cass County, Indiana.
Maxine was raised in Galveston, Indiana and attended Galveston High School. While living in Galveston, she regularly attended church at First Baptist Church of Galveston. Later in life, she worked in production at Delco Electronics for 35 years. Maxine retired from Delco in the late 1980’s.
Maxine raised three children and taught at Sunday School while they were young. She enjoyed planting flowers and trees in her yard, and was very skilled at landscaping. For the last 14 years, Maxine has lived at The Wellington Assisted Living Facility of Kokomo, and participated in several events that they held there. She loved visiting with her grandchildren and great grandchildren more than anything.
Maxine is survived by her children, Marcia (BJ) Raskauskas, Jack (Barbara) Lake, and Phil (Joan) Lake; grandchildren, Jeffrey Lake and Jason (Jodi) Lake; step-grandchildren, Penny (Rick) Snyder, Dane (Debbi) Orbaugh, John Raskauskas, and Julie Raskauskas; and great-grandchildren, Chase Lake, Chloe Lake, Devin Orbaugh, Dylan Orbaugh, Gabe Hayes, and Seth Hayes. Maxine’s family would also like to acknowledge her best friend and caregiver, Rita Cotton.
In addition to her parents, Maxine was preceded in death by two brothers, Phillip Burtch and Robert Burtch; and two sisters, Mildred Allman and Betty Lou Johnson.
There will be a public visitation for Maxine at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home on Saturday, April 21st from 10-11 am, with a funeral service immediately following.
Memorial contributions in Maxine’s name may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
