Nelda Mae Higgins

Nelda Mae Higgins, 82, of Kokomo passed away at 8:36am Monday, July 30th, 2018 at her residence. Born August 8, 1935 in Kokomo, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence Gunnell and Helen Lantz (Miller) Gunnell. She was employed at Delco Electronics, retiring after 35 years of service. She was a member of Local #292. The greatest joy in her life was spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include one son, Ron (Michelle) Higgins, Indianapolis; one daughter Mila Crites-Blohm of Kokomo; a half-brother Kenny Kepner. There are also grandchildren Jesse (Ashley) Crites, Angela Horner, Sandra (Bill) Richardson, Alan (Kelly) Higgins, Joshua (Amanda) Sommers; great grandchildren Amber (Matt) Miller, Alyssa Crites, Karisa Horner, Kyle Horner, Foster Higgins, Kailey Higgins, Jenna Richardson, Jake Richardson, Ty Richardson, Max Richardson, Aubrey Gibson and Rudy, Anndria Gibson, Sophie Kelly, Clayton Kelly, Sydalee Elias, Zane Kiefer, Finn Kiefer. Great great grandchildren are Wyatt Miller and Emmett Valenzuela; also many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons Daniel L. Higgins and Gregory A. Higgins; a daughter-in-law Mary Higgins; a brother Jack Gunnell; and a sister Shirley Mason. Visitation will be from 11am to 1pm, Friday August 3, 2018 at Ellers Mortuary Main Street Chapel, 725 South Main Street, Kokomo. Graveside services will follow at Kokomo Memorial Park, 1300 E. North Street, Kokomo. Pastor Jeff Sexton will officiate. Burial will follow.
