Willadean (Powell) Schafer

Willadean (Powell) Schafer, 85, of Kokomo, Indiana passed away peacefully in her sleep Tuesday, October 9, 2018. She was born October 20, 1932 in Kokomo to Alpha and Mildred (Poe) Powell. Willadean graduated from Northwestern High School and went on to marry Phillip Lee Schafer. She was a devoted wife and mother, assisting Phillip with the farm and raising their three children. Philip passed away in 1972 and Willadean went to work for Delco to support their young children. She gave her all to her kids and loved them fiercely. She even helped raise 2 of her grandchildren. During retirement, Willadean kept busy in her garden with her vegetables and flowers. We know that she is now tending God’s garden and is at peace. Willadean is survived by her three children, four siblings, four grandchildren, three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by 2 siblings and one grandson. Funeral services will be Monday, October 15 at 11am at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home, 2097 W. Alto Road, Kokomo, IN 46902.
