Willis Beougher, 83, Kokomo, passed away on Wednesday, May 02, 2012. He was born June 2, 1928, in Camden, to Truman and Leona (Kirkpatrick) Beougher. On June 2, 1950, he married Dolly Knight at Walton Methodist Church.
He graduated from Camden High School where he was a valuable member of the basketball team. He was a member of the United States Army, serving in Germany as a military policeman. He owned Walton Construction Company, building homes in the Walton, Logansport and surrounding areas and later owned Will and Son Construction Company, building homes and businesses in the Kokomo area. He also worked as a block and brick union mason, mechanic and assistant manager at Cedar Crest Bowling Lanes and a sales attendant at both Shell and Gas America.
He is survived by his wife, Dolly Beougher; daughter, Becky (Brad) Seamster, Kokomo; son, Rick (Janet) Beougher, Kokomo; granddaughters, Holly Beougher, Galveston, and Amanda (Dean) Clark, Bowling Green, Kentucky; grandson, Nathan Beougher; step-grandsons, Donald Carey, Dennis Carey, Daniel (Gail) Seamster, and Mark (Tracie) Seamster; step-granddaughter, Dawn (Rich) Coop; great-granddaughters, Olivia Skiles, Madelyn Brown, Berklee Beaver, and Jasmine Clark; great-grandson, Hunter Mohr; step-great-grandsons, Jayson Hart, Garrett Coop, Jacob Seamster, and Orian Cary; step-great-granddaughters, Cassandra Seamster, and Athena Carey; sisters, Theresa Issac, Doris Sink, and Joan (Pete) Jackson; brother, Donald Beougher; sister-in-law, Dodie Jones; and several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother, George Beougher.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home with Pastor Ron DeGraaff officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery with military honors. Visiting hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
