Wilodene "Willie" Rosemary Eltzeroth

Wilodene “Willie” Eltzeroth, age 95, passed away on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at her home in Kokomo. She was born on May 24, 1923 in Kokomo to the late Lawrence and Jessie (Ozenbaugh) Weitzel. On December 27, 1971, Willie was married to the love of her life, Robert Dale Eltzeroth in Tennessee. Robert preceded Willie in passing on June 10, 1999. Willie spent a short while working for Delco Electronics in Kokomo, and then worked at a floral shop in Rochester, Indiana. She dedicated most of her life to being a homemaker. Willie was a member of the American Legion and The Eagles Lodge of Kokomo. She enjoyed baking, reading, and traveling, particularly to Lake Tahoe and New Orleans. She was an avid collector of dolls and enjoyed watching Dancing with the Stars and Little Big Shots on TV. She found most enjoyment through socializing with her friends, and she had never met a stranger. Willie is survived by her granddaughter, Susan (Kurt) Meissnest; daughter-in-law, Gloria Chapel; nephews, Gary Weitzel and Brett (Angie) Weitzel; and several nieces. In addition to her parents and husband, Willie was preceded in death by a son, Larry Chapel; and brothers, Donald Weitzel and George Weitzel. There will be a public visitation for Willie held at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home in Kokomo on Monday, October 22nd from 11-1, followed by interment at Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. Willie’s family would like to extend a special thank you to her next door neighbors and her younger friends that were always willing to help Willie out. Willie’s family would also like to invite family and friends to join them for a meal at the Elbow Room immediately following her service.
