Calvin Winfred Dalton

Calvin Winfred Dalton, 92, of Rustburg passed away Saturday, July 7, 2018, at his residence. He was the husband of the late Nettie Brooks Dalton. Born November 28, 1925, in Campbell County, he was the son of the late Ollie Bennett Dalton, Sr. and the late Ethel Mae Neighbors Dalton.
Calvin was a retired self-employed farmer and an outstanding member member of Clearview Baptist Church for 38 years. He served in our country in the U.S. Army during World War II.
In addition to his wife and parents, Calvin was preceded in death by one son, Leonard Allen Dalton; and two brothers, Ollie Bennett Dalton, Jr. and Vernon Milton Green.
Calvin is survived by his children, David Dalton of Rustburg, Sheila Dalton Payne of Lynchburg, Deborah Kay Dalton Haskin of Climax and Randy Winfred Dalton of Rustburg; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 10, 2018, at Clearview Baptist Church with Pastor Zane Kramer officiating. Interment will follow at the Clearview Baptist Church Cemetery with Military Honors presented by the American Legion Post 16.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Monday, July 9, 2018, at Clearview Baptist Church and at other times at the residence.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the needs of the family.
