Carole Mae VanBlarican

Carole Mae Thelen VanBlarican, 83, of Lynchburg passed away on Friday, November 16, 2018 at Runk and Pratt Senior Living. She was the loving wife of the late Donald VanBlarican. Born on November 5, 1935 in Hayward, WI, she was the daughter of the late Claude Thelen and the late Virginia Klatte Thelen. Carole retired from Suntrust Bank and was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church. She enjoyed gardening and canning, puzzles, feeding the birds, and photography. She also loved history and walking in old cemeteries. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a son, Richard Donald VanBlarican and sister, Mary Williams, Nancy Voboril, Ellen LeVeque, and Paula Becker. Carole is survived by her daughter, Susie VanBlarican; grandson, Nicholas Richard VanBlarican; daughter-in-law, April Denny; sister, Claudia Spaulding; brother, Albert Thelen; and numerous other family members and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at Holy Cross Catholic Church with Rev. Msgr. J. Kenneth Rush officiating. A reception will follow Mass and interment will follow the reception at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery.
