Henry Ford Staton

Henry Ford Staton was born in Amherst County on November 23, 1924 to Henry Lee and Cora Lee Staton. He was the beloved husband of 52 years to Myrene Crawford Staton. Henry was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church and retired from Bartlett Tree Service. He is preceded in death by one daughter, Patricia Yvonne Staton Coleman; son-in-law, Robert Earl Coleman, Sr.; one granddaughter, Donna Gail Coleman; and one grandson, Ricky Joe Greer. Henry is survived by his children, Donna and David Staton of Madison Heights and Theresa Jean Greer of Concord; grandchildren, Carolyn Yvette Coleman of TN, Robert Earl Coleman, Jr. and Katie of NY; Christopher L. Kidd of Concord, Timothy Jason Greer of Concord, David H. Staton, Jr. of Lynchburg, Jeremy N. Staton of Lynchburg and Joseph L. Staton of Madison Heights; great grandchildren, Robert and Ryan Coleman of NY, Selena and Corey Kidd of Concord, Jeramiah and Jayden Staton of Lynchburg, Justice Greer of Lynchburg, and Caiden A. Parr-Staton of Bedford; sister, Ozelia Farmer of Lynchburg; dear friends, Annie Allen of Lynchburg, Bobby Harrison, Mr. and Mrs. Butler, Mr. and Mrs. Padgett, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Lee, and his church friends; and a host of cousins. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 pm on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at Whitten Park Avenue and at other times at his daughter, Donna’s residence, 730 Wright Shop Rd, Madison Heights, VA. A funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at Whitten Park Avenue, with Pastor Carlton Duck officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church Cemetery in Amherst County.
