Imagean Sexton Cyrus, 86, of Evington, passed away Friday, January 14, 2022 at her residence.
Born in Fries, VA, March 17, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Marshall Sexton and Susie Flanagan Sexton. She was retired from Imperial Reading. She was an avid reader and enjoyed puzzles. She was loved by many and everyone called her Mama.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rudolph Cyrus; her brother, James Sexton; her sister, Jeanette Wooldridge and a great grandson, Fitzgerald Brandon Cyrus.
She is survived by her son, Glenn R. Cyrus and wife Patricia of Lynchburg; her daughter, Wendy Cyrus Dunaway and husband Dennis of Evington; her grandson Brandon G. Cyrus and wife Rebecca and one great grandchild, Ainsley Carter Cyrus. She was also loved by many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 21, 2022 at Fort Hill Memorial Park.
Friends are welcome to pay their respects and sign the register on Thursday, January 20, 2022 from 9 to 6 p.m. and the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
Because Mama was a cancer survivor, the family request memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
