Ronald "Ronnie" Thomas Driskill Sr.

Ronald “Ronnie” Thomas Driskill, Sr., age 84 of Lynchburg, widower of Wadeene Goff Driskill passed away on Thursday, July 19, 2018. He was born on August 7, 1933 in Lynchburg, son of the late Carl Thomas and Lillie Mitchell Driskill. Ronnie was a member Euclid Christian Church and had retired from Foster Electric. He was a devoted grandfather who along with his wife Wadeene, were avidly into antiques and along with several of their friends, were founding members of the Roanoke Antique Mall. In addition to his wife and parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Donald Lee Driskill. Survivors include two children, Caryn Newcom and husband Scot and Tom Driskill and wife Lori; three grandchildren, Haley Driskill, Corey Driskill, and Lily Moreland and husband Zachary; one sister in law, Susan Wood and husband Bill; one brother in law, Wallace Layne and wife Pam as well as one expected great grandchild, Alice Quinn Moreland. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 pm on Sunday, July 22, 2018 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel. There will be a private burial at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Drive, Memphis, TN 38105.
