Albert Marshall Tyree

Albert “Bunk” “Lawnmower Man” Marshall Tyree, 88, of Madison Heights, passed away Wednesday, July 4, 2018 at his residence. He was the husband of the late. Elaine Minnick Tyree.
Born in Madison Heights on November 30, 1929, he was a son of the late Marvin Tyree and Ruth Vest Tyree. He was a retired laborer from the Lynchburg Foundry, a member of Faith Baptist Church in Madison Heights, and a small engine mechanic. He also loved to fish and spend time with his family.
He was preceded in death by 11 brothers and sisters.
Albert is survived by two sons, Marshall “Butch” Tyree and wife Nancy, Marvin “Smokey” Tyree and wife Regina; one daughter, Robin Tyree; four grandchildren, Stefanie Yancey and husband Barry, Lindsay Johnson and husband Kelvin, Amanda Davis and husband Chris, Brigitte Wilson and Tommy; seven great-grandchildren, Brianna, River, Mason, Chase, Maddox, Eden, and Nora; two special friends, Steve “Red” Fitzgerald, and Kenneth Grant; and his nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted 1:00 pm Monday, July 9, 2018 at Whitten Monelison Chapel with the Rev. Brian Hudson officiating; burial will follow in Fort Hill Memorial Park. Family will receive friends and family, Sunday, July 8, 2018 from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm at Whitten Monelison Chapel.
Family would like to thank Centra Hospice and his three caregivers, Samantha, Teresa, and Barbara for all the love and care they showed Bunk.
