Ashby Lola Staton

Ashby Lola Staton, 80, of Concord passed away Thursday, January 14, 2021, at her residence. She was the devoted wife of 46 years to the late Massie Leonard Staton. Born October 17, 1940, in Nelson County, she was the daughter of the late George Quinn Wright and the late Lottie Mays Wright. In addition to her husband and parents, Ashby was preceded in death by six brothers, Abraham Wright, Cecil Wright, Earnest Wright, William Wright, George Wright and Leonard Wright; and five sisters, Evelyn Clowman, Sadie Purvis, Georgie Morris, Mary Hall and Lottie Eubanks. Ashby was a retired chef for the Spring House in Concord, VA. She loved to crochet and cook. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, sister and friend. Ashby was the loving mother of Mark Staton and Roger Staton, both of Concord. She is also survived by one brother, Matthew Wright of Lynchburg; and other loving family members and friends. A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 20, 2021, at Whitten Monelison Chapel. There will be a time to pay respects from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 19, 2021, at Whitten Monelison Chapel.
