Donald Wayne Thomas

Donald Wayne Thomas, 52, of Madison Heights passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2017, at his residence. Born on December 28, 1964, in Lynchburg, he was the son of Earl T. Thomas and Kate Hamilton Thomas. Donald was a general manager for KFC and attended New Beginning Tabernacle Church. He was an avid VT fan, enjoyed bowling, and loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. For the past 7 months, Donald was also helping his mother take care of his father. Family meant everything to Donald and he will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. Donald was preceded in death by one brother, Earl Thomas, Jr. In addition to his parents, Donald is survived by his children, Scott Schilling of Goode, Timmy Terry and his fiancée, Tabatha of Amherst, and Krystena Sanchez of Amherst; one brother, Larry Wayne Thomas of Evington; two half-sisters, Judy Ann Thomas and Betty Mae Dickerson, both of Madison Heights; six grandchildren, Aaron Schilling, Colby Schilling, Leilah Schilling, Hunter Terry, Aubree Terry, and Easton Dalton and a precious grandson on the way; his former wife, Elaine Thomas of Madison Heights; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, coworkers and friends. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, February 21, 2017, at Whitten Monelison Chapel. There will be no formal services at this time.
