Obituary of Frances Dodd Davis
Frances Dodd Davis, age 80 of Madison Heights, widow of David Paul Davis, passed away Wednesday, September 12, 2018. Frances was born on July 29, 1938 in Buchanan, Virginia, daughter of the late William Langford Dodd and Virginia Mae Davidson Dodd. She worked for General Electric Corporation for twenty years after which she joined the staff of Whitten Funeral Home from which she retired after twenty years of service. In addition to her loving husband, David, she was also preceded in death by a son, David Paul Davis, Jr. She is survived by a daughter Christy Davis and her husband David Baker; a son Lawrence Campbell; a brother, William “Billy” L. Dodd, Jr. (Karen); two sisters, Patricia D. Wiley and June D. Cunningham (Barry); she is also survived by 6 grandchildren: Sydney Staples (Isaiah); Lauren Wood (Michael); Erin Davis (Josh); Willie Baker (Kara); Justin Baker (Jordan); Jessica Baker (Stephen) as well as 5 great grandchildren: Taylor, Cj, Panda, Pax, and Xavier. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, September 16, 2018 at Whitten Monelison Chapel with Celebrant Polly Starnes officiating. Interment will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, September 17, 2018 at Virginia Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Sunday following the service at the funeral home until 5:00 pm.
