Pamela Herndon Helberg

Pamela Herndon Helberg, age 60, of Amherst, widow of Herman Wesley Helberg, Jr., passed away on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at her home. She was born in Richmond on October 11, 1960, daughter of Joseph H. Hanchey, Jr. and the late Jean L. Root. Pam was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church. She was a nurse, having worked at Blue Ridge Medical Center and the dialysis clinic in Amherst as well as operating, with her husband who was a veterinarian, a mobile veterinary clinic. Pam was a very creative woman who loved her flowers. She is survived by a daughter, Crystal Helberg and her husband Merv Lingle; a son, Herman Wesley Helberg, III; a brother, Joseph H. Hanchey, III; her life partner, Clinton Sorrels as well as her two beloved dogs survive her. A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, August 5, 2021 at Trinity Episcopal Church Arrington, VA.
