Obituary of Wilma K Roesler Land

Wilma K. Land, 93 of Markle passed away at 9:00 am on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at the Markle Health and Rehab where she had resided for several years. Mrs. Land had worked for over 20 years as Secretary for the Huntington County Surveyors Office. Wilma was a 1940 graduate of Horace Mann High School in Gary, IN; she then attended Business College in Chicago. She was a member of the Tri-Kappa Sorority for many years. Wilma loved spending time with her grandkids and family. She also enjoyed square dancing, play cards and was loving known as the “Jell-O Queen”. Wilma was born on October 12, 1923 in Chicago, IL a daughter of Elmo Sr. and Thelma (Davis) Roesler. She was united in marriage to William Land on January 1, 1953 in Gary, IN. He preceded her in death on December 29, 2014. Survivors include - a son: John A. Land of Logansport; a daughter: Sue D. Miller of Lafayette; sister-in-laws: Virginia Roesler of Fort Wayne, Opal Nelson of Oregon and cousin: Carl Strle of Andrews. 3 grandsons: Zachary M. Miller, William O. Land and Nathan A. Miller. She was preceded in death by a brother: Elmo Roesler Jr. and a twin sister: Elma Roesler. A Celebration of Life will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery, Huntington, IN on Sunday, May 27, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. Memorial donations can be made out to the Markle Health and Rehab’s Activities Fund, sent in care to Myers Funeral Home, P.O.
