Betty Ann Burruss

Betty Ann Burruss, 91, of Richmond, VA passed away peacefully on November 9, 2023. She was born July 18, 1932 to the late Grace and James Linwood Harding. A true beauty, she had several suitors before marrying the best of the lot, Beverly Garland Burruss, who preceded her in death. They were married for 48 years. Betty had a long career at the Richmond Times-Dispatch. She enjoyed the simple things in life like spending time with her family, eating good food, and watching The Price is Right. She was an animal lover and had many pets over the years. She was very lucky and often had success during her casino visits. She was an excellent bowler. Betty did not leave the house without her signature red lipstick. Betty was a member of Kentwood Heights Baptist Church. She loved the Lord and was at peace with her departure. She is survived by her four children, Beverly Ann (Kevin), Roger Lee (Sandy), Benjamin (Sheri), and Brenda (Steve); six grandchildren, Sandra, Sydney, Christopher, Tracey, Eric, and Michael, a great-grandchild, Hayden, and one sister, Margaret. She is preceded in death by siblings James and Jane. The family would like to express a special appreciation for the nurses who cared for her and her nursing home roommate, Brenda. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Richmond SPCA.
