Arleen Price

Arleen Price, most recently of North Chesterfield, Virginia, died on 5.25.20 at 76 years old. Arleen is survived by 2 daughters, Cindy Cook, and Wendy Price, as well as 3 grandchildren; Darius, Samuel and Jordana Cook. Originally from New Jersey, Arleen graduated from Woodbridge High School, then attended and graduated from the Beth Israel Hospital School of Nursing, and later obtained her Bachelors degree from Linden College. As a Nurse, she did patient care as a floor nurse in the hospital, nursing home and research settings. However, in the late 1970s she convinced an insurance company to hire her for medical record review for benefit determination. With her Paralegal Certificate, this was the stepping stone to her becoming a pioneer in the field of Legal Nurse Consulting, and an expert in Risk Management. When she retired, she was the head of the paralegal department for a large defendant’s medical malpractice law firm in New York City, and coordinated/conducted risk management in-services for the firm’s clients throughout the 5 Burroughs of New York. From an early age, Arleen was always involved in a variety of organizations. Just some of the groups she touched with her energy and leadership include different Temple affiliated groups, professional organizations, Reunion Committee for Nursing School, Cooperative Extension, 4-H, Girl Scouts, Domestic Student Exchange, PTA, and From the Heart. She also participated in a research study related to Multiple Sclerosis. As a strong believer in advocacy, she got involved in local government in recent years to rally for the rights of seniors & the handicapped in the Chesterfield County community, and taught many people how to advocate for themselves. Some of the reasons Arleen will be missed center around her kindness, selflessness, pragmatism, organizational skills, needlework/sewing, strength of character, patience and sense of humor. With her passing, there are many who feel the void.
